February has been an exciting month on the Hoxhunt side.

We’ve continued our cadence of shipping new and improved features in our core platform, but we also launched something completely new: an iOS app for reporting suspicious text messages!

Inform managers or security offers about repeat clickers

Hoxhunt’s phishing training is proven to be effective and engaging, but sometimes employees still struggle to build the desired reporting habits.

To support these employees, we offer “remedial training” features—now expanded with two new automations:

1. An automation to send a message to a user's manager if the user clicks consecutive simulations. A more personal approach from a manager is a powerful way to guide employees to understand the importance of secure habits.
2. An automation to send messages to freely selected admin email addresses, like a security officer or awareness manager. It’s important to keep key stakeholders aware of support needed to reach the security goals for which they are accountable.

The outreach to managers and admins adapts easily to your security culture and organization’s communication languages. The message can be fully customized and translated using our AI translator.

It's important to investigate why users click on phishing simulations. By notifying the user's own manager about the risky behavior, the manager can bring a more personal approach to discovering the underlying reasons for the behavior.

Based on discovery, more relevant and personalized actions can be taken to help the clicker turn into a reporter!

Report suspicious text messages with Hoxhunt for iOS

The Hoxhunt iOS app is out now! The app allows users to report suspicious text messages to Hoxhunt using iOS's native reporting.

Now, you can expand social engineering protection beyond phishing to cover smishing attacks.

Your employees can feel more secure by reporting suspicious messages, and you will get deeper visibility into their threat landscape by analyzing the reported messages in Hoxhunt.

The Hoxhunt app can be downloaded from the App Store. It is free to our customers as part of the Hoxhunt platform.

Train developers on web security best practices

We’ve published new training content on the Open Web Applications Security Project (OWASP) theme.

Topics include Top 10 OWASP security actions, Broken access control, Cryptographic failures, Injection, Security misconfigurations, Identification and authentication failures, and more.

The trainings' code examples are available in Python and Javascript.

We’ve also updated several training modules - including video content - to align with evolving best practices.

Our training content library is continuously updated to meet our customers' changing needs. Last month we added several new training modules specific to compliance standards like PCI-DSS and DORA, as well as executive-specific cybersecurity training.
